Lisa Scrivener, from our Client Care team shared her thoughts on the most innovative ways she has seen our clients use our products; Asset, iCREWtek and the Asset Client Portal.

innovative

adjective in·no·va·tive \ˈi-nə-ˌvā-tiv\

: introducing or using new ideas or methods

: having new ideas about how something can be done

As the definition indicates, being innovative, means stepping back from the normal grind and rut of your day-to-day routine.  It requires that you evaluate all that you do with a critical eye and ask yourself is there another way, a better way, a new and different way to accomplish the things that need to get done.  Typically, in Asset, the answer is a resounding YES!  There are a million ways to skin a cat and, likewise, many options to tackle anything in Asset.

One of our core values here at Include is Obliterate the Box.  Don’t just step out of your box, your comfort zone – crush it!  For us this means constantly seeking alternatives that are more efficient, more agile, more scalable, and more collaborative in everything that we do.  That challenge can be applied universally – to any company or business and to life in general.

I see our clients’ innovative use of Asset on a daily basis.  The creativity, resourcefulness, and proficiency that I witness in action is thrilling.  It is amazing to see the impact a comprehensive, integrated software program can make in a business and the enthusiasm with which our clients utilize it.

Some of the best examples of the innovative use of Asset come from those we consider our “Super Users”.  One of these users applied the concepts from the book Essentialism, by Greg McKeown, to the way in which he customized financial statements in Asset.  Another has devised a system and methodology within the program to calculate and report Earned Revenue which provides her company’s management with data they need to get a true picture of company performance.

Yet another Asset Super User has devised processes and procedures within the program for her company that ties functionality in the Scheduling and Purchasing modules to ensure that there is no missed billing beyond the safety nets already inherent in Asset.  Is this applicable or necessary to all Asset clients?  Absolutely not.  However, it is a testament to the flexibility of the program and the spirit of innovation that exists within our clients.

There is also innovation within the innovations of the product itself.  This can be seen in the account managers that utilize iCREWtek to sell enhancement work, to the early adopters of the Asset Client Portal which have innovated and revolutionized the way in which they manage their Accounts Receivable and receive service requests directly from their clients into Asset.

I hope you are motivated to look objectively at your daily to-do list and the goals you wish to accomplish and you are inspired to channel your most innovative spirit to obliterate the box and try a new way of doing them!
